Leandra has been working at Waterloo Counseling Center since 2022. Leandra is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under a Board Approved Supervisor and graduated in May 2020 with her Master's in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY Old Westbury, located in New York.

Leandra is passionate about providing therapy because she feels deeply that it is an honor and a privilege to help others who are dealing with various past traumas in their lives. She enjoys practicing therapy because it is fulfilling and extremely rewarding to help and be a part of her clients’ healing journeys.

Leandra utilizes a mix of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as Solution Focused. Leandra specializes in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, and substance use.

Leandra’s mission and plan for working with clients is to utilize her unique experience, skills and insight to help clients complete goals developed together during their therapeutic relationship. She uses a mix of historically proven, evidence-based and culturally competent treatment modalities to help the clients heal from previous traumas and experiences, while making positive life improvements and growing overall.

Leandra is proud of and loves spending time with her adorable nieces. She is also proud of her resiliency through life experiences and in the face of adversity. In her free time, Leandra is an avid reader, and greatly enjoys playing video games for long periods of time as well as going to anime/comic conventions.
